The 9th Photo Trek has come to an end. It followed the most beautiful footpaths through the Gorges de la Loire and the Pilat Regional Park, within the magical Greater Saint-Etienne area. The following pages present some of the best photographs taken by the 61 amateur photographers who came from all across France to take part in this year’s Photo Trek. I hope you enjoy this short, pictorial journey.
Let’s hear from our patron, 14-times world orienteering champion Thierry Gueorgiou, who knows this beautiful region better than anyone, having run every part of it for five years: "Ah, the Pilat and the Gorges de la Loire. Those names bring back so many memories. Most of all, it is where my career began, as it was running in these wonderfully diverse forests that got me hooked on orienteering. On countless occasions I have slowed down and raised my eyes from the map just to take in the scenery and tell myself how lucky I am. So, knowing that other people, just as passionate about their hobby as I am, are exploring the area and capturing its unspoilt beauty makes me deeply happy. I can’t wait to see their photos and I hope that all the participants have a fantastically enjoyable weekend in this magnificent corner of the world. All the best, Thierry"
